• Quoting

When it comes time for quoting a project we recommend that a quantity surveyor is engaged by the home owner to provide an independent indication of build costs

This allows all builders’ quotes to be measured and questioned, rather than going for the cheapest or highest quote.

We will offer you two options for quoting.

    1. Fixed price

    2. Charge up +

We will guide you through the process from start to finish.

  • Fixed Price

A fixed price project will cover the full job, but usually excludes the costs of all fixtures and fittings.

Fixtures and fitting can be factored into the quote if the drawing has full specifications, but normally plans lack this much detailing due to cost.

Note that while a fixed price job gives a good indication of cost for the build, it will exclude any additional costs that might arise during the construction phase, including due to a price increase in building materials or if modifications are made to the plans.

We provide thorough and clear fixed price quotes.

  • Charge up +

Also known as an estimated quote.

A cost plus quote is usually the best option for custom builds or high end finish projects.

With a charge up job we highly recommend the home owner engages a quantity surveyor to work out the job cost. From there, choose a builder based on labor rates, margin and quality of work. This will help you make the best decision and ensures a fair process for everyone involved.

Our rates (GST exclusive) as of March 2023:

    Builder: $77.00 per hour

    Hammer hand: $57.00 per hour

Margin on subcontractors and materials coordinated by LBP: 10%

Maintenance call out fee: $100.00 first hour, then rates as set out above

We can give you a fair indication of costs.
